Our *Newly Developed* Fat Steer Show is like none other in Florida. This show is open to any Hillsborough County youth, who is a member of the Hillsborough County Junior Cattlemen's and is at least 8 years old up through a Senior in High School. This show will highlight youth projects that are carefully and ethically raised, as well as animals that are in market ready condition for the consumer. Projects will be required to weigh 1000 lbs at time of check in at the Fat Steer Show.
Projects entered into the Fat Steer Show at the Hillsborough Beef Expo, will NOT be required to be sold to consumers and there will NOT be a live market sale during our event. However, we encourage our exhibitors to sale their terminal projects through our unique Marketing Program. Complete details on what the Marketing Program looks like are outlined below.
The HBE Fat Steer Show and Sale will award CASH and prize honors to a Top 5 Overall set of steers AND a Top 5 County Bred set of steers. Exhibitors are allowed to enter ONE Fat Steer into the HBE Fat Steer Division.

We are happy to be part of the JFCA Point Series!! Due to unforeseen challenges at our facility, we have had to make the difficult decision to change dates for the 2024 HBE. With this change there is a positive spin. We now will be able to help the JFCA Point Series by offering 2 SHOWS in 1 WEEKEND. This will give the JFCA Point Series exhibitors the opportunity to gain 2 sets of points in one outing! Please see the links below for our tentative schedule and additional information. As a reminder ALL shows will follow the JFCA Guidelines, which can be found on the JFCA Linktree and in the FILES section on our Showman App. They can also be found in the Important Exhibitor Information & Downloads section below.
The HBE will be open to ANY youth, who is a member of the Junior Florida Cattlemen's Association (JFCA) and is at least 8 years old.
